quiet sunday

May 31st, 2009 by Sean

img_4026It was a cool and quiet Sunday in Fishtown which gave Rick and I a chance to go for a ride in Dan’s new ferrari when he stopped by this afternoon.  A good day for a drive in Leelanau County.

As the harbor nears its completion, the Enchantress is getting dressed up for a summer dip in the Leland River.  After some new deck paint and a fresh coat of varnish, she’ll be ready to take her place at the base of the dam in Fishtown.

Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay

May 28th, 2009 by Sean

img_3993Most of the dock sections have arrived in Leland and have been staged for final positioning.  The guys from Flotation Docking systems took us out to the sections that still haven’t been connected to land.  After so much anticipation, its good to see things coming together.  Can’t wait to see the first boaters of the season mooring up soon.

The Docks are Here

May 18th, 2009 by Sean

floating docksThe first two truck loads of floating docks pulled on to North Lake Street yesterday evening.  Three sections at a time means a lot of trips.  Tugs and docks in the last 24 hours means good things are happening in Leland.  Stay tuned.

The Janice Sue and The Joy just rolled up the river sporting a new coat of paint after winter lay-up in Northport.  Hopefully they’ll be plucking chubs out of the lake in no time.
