NEW Leland Township Harbor Complex Open House
Date: Friday, June 4, 2010
Time: 10 am – 2 pm
Place: Leland Township Harbor next to Fishtown
It’s time to show off the new Leland Township harbor and harbor complex! And so we’ve scheduled this event as both an Open House for the public and a Media Day for the press. Refreshments will be served.
Here’s a sample of what you’ll see (and learn more about) when you come on Friday, June 4th.
The three million dollar project, financed cooperatively with the Michigan State Waterways Commission, features new floating docks with new utility pedestals, 22 additional slips (bringing Leland’s slip total to 71 moorings, the largest of which will accommodate 100’ plus) as well as a new boater’s building and a new parking lot.
The old, 1960’s vintage facility has been replaced with a gorgeous, new, two-story building in the architectural style of 1890’s Northern Michigan. Inside are eight new showers, marina restroom facilities, a new harbor office, laundry facilities, an expansive boater’s lounge, and a spacious, covered patio overlooking the harbor…none of which has ever been available at Leland Harbor.

Here ya go.
Just a little preview of Hidden Agenda Band at “Here Comes the Sun” Come check them out Monday from 1-5. There’s at least a 70% chance it won’t rain and a 100% chance it’s going to be a real good time. See you on the deck at Rick’s Cafe.

Hard to miss a boat like this head into Leland Harbor in April, but an hour later when I looked up, it was already gone. At any rate, if there isn’t ice on the lake, its never too earlier to be out on “old blue”. Pop in to The Cove this weekend as we open the doors for the season. -Bon voyage.

Congratulations to Leelanau Brewing Company for their Good Harbor Golden Ale making #4 on the New York Times list of Belgium style Golden Ales. Check out the followup article from Traverse the Magazine and see where the beer’s creator, Charles Psenka prefers to sip on his award winning brew.
